Summer Blog Challenge 1: Summer Bag Essentials

Hello again readers! I am very pleased to inform you that I will be completing a 2014 Summer Blog Challenge set by the lovely Amy. What has inspired me to be such an active member of the blogosphere? I really don't know. But it sounded fun, so hey, why not? The first topic everyone's been given is 'Summer Bag Essentials'. And yes, I know Australia is currently at the beginning of what seems to be a very chilly winter, but let's just pretend that's not the case for the time being (a girl can dream). When I think summer, I think beach, so what better way to blow this topic out of the water then by listing some beach bag essentials? Let's get started . . .

1. Weather Proof Mini Bags

How awesomely cute are these? There's no denying that these are certainly beach themed, and they just so happen to use some of the best colours ever. But wait, there's more, they're actually practical! It's a well known fact that pretty much everything you bring with you to the beach gets sandy and wet, so why not keep it in a tiny, insulated bag free from any outside influence? That sounds like a great solution. And they can literally work as what ever you want them to! A lunch bag, a cosmetic bag, the opportunities are endless.

2. A Reliable Pair of Sunglasses

There's only one way to avoid the wrath of the sun's glare when lazing about at the beach - sunglasses. They're lightweight, they're practical, and they manage to prevent you from embarrassingly screwing your face up and squinting as you attempt to have some semblance of vision. Plus, if you're able to get some snazzy, pink, love-heart ones like these, all the better.

3. Scented Sun Screen

Yep, that's right, Teenage Fanatic is promoting sun safety, spread that round folks! Definitely an essential item in everyone's beach bag should be sun screen. I don't know about you, but I would quite like to continue living. I've grown quite fond of life, so I don't really plan on getting skin cancer anytime soon, which unfortunately seems to be the alternative to not lathering on some sun protective lotion. Either that, or you'll end up looking like this:

I think I'll take the far superior option and just suck it up and buy some sun screen - like the Hawaiian Tropic one above! It has all sorts of magical powers. By applying, you'll have super smooth, moisturised skin, plus you'll smell like a coconut! Does life get any better?

4. Beached Themed iPhone Case

There's no doubting that themed items can make an ordinary outing truly spectacular. So next time you rock up to the beach, why not make sure everything you're bringing along fits the occasion? You'll look like a professional coordinator. Plus, who wouldn't want their iPhone case to be covered in sparkly starfish? I know I do.

So that's the end of my super short list! I hope you enjoyed my first instalment of the Summer Blog Challenge (because there are many more to come). Now go out and live your lives readers! Til' next time . . .

Annabel xx
