Bye Bye July: Hola August!

Hello again blogosphere! It is now officially the month of August, and excitingly, it also happens to be the month of someone's birthday (spoiler alert - it's mine!). There are so many exciting things ahead in the 31 days of August, and I actually am so excited for things to get started and be awesome. However, before this can happen, I need to do the usual monthly kick-off blog post and take a look back at some of the biggest celebrity moments in the past month. Are you ready? I know I am. Without further ado, here they are . . .

4. Naya Rivera got Secretly Hitched to Ryan Dorsey

I think this was a shock to pretty much everyone. Who would've thought? To be completely honest, I wasn't totally sure they were going out, until it was announced that these two lovebirds had gone and got hitched secretly at the spur of the moment. It seems like just yesterday Naya was engaged to Big Sean, oh how time flies. I have to admit, I don't really know much about Ryan except for the fact that he's an actor, however there's not really any doubt that he's an improvement on her last prospective husband (of whom I never approved). So I say power to them!

3. 'Bang Bang' is Released

You may be thinking, why would the release of a song be such big news? Well my friends, when it's a song as hyped as this one, there's no way it couldn't make the cut. This Ariana Grande, Jessie J and Nicki Minaj collaboration has been the talk of the town for a while now, the much anticipated single causing all kinds of buzz, and now it's officially here. So is it any good? I have to say, I actually love it so much. Coming off the back of her major successes 'Problem' and 'Break Free', Ariana really needed to pull something great out of the bag, and boy did she ever. I absolutely love it! It's super catchy, the vocals are phenomenal, and it is totally radio material. What more could you ask for?

2. Matt Bendik Passes Away

You probably all have no idea who exactly Matt Bendik is, and that's okay, because not many people do. He wasn't a celebrity or anything, however he dated Becca Tobin who portrays Kitty Wilde on 'Glee', and from that, gained a bit of exposure. Tragically, on July 10th, Matt was found dead in a Philadelphia hotel room, the coroner's report confirming that the death wasn't a suicide or drug induced, however the cause of death is still yet to be determined. This really sucks. There's not really any other way to put it, it's just awful. Perhaps what makes it even worse is the fact that it lies so close to the anniversary of Cory Monteith's passing. July really isn't a good month for the Glee cast or gleeks alike. My thoughts are with Becca. 

1. Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult enter into Splitsville

Yep, you read that right. Oscar winning J-Law and 'Warm Bodies' star Nicholas Hoult have ended their romance. Apparently, according to some random news sites, Nicholas broke up with her because she was too affected by fame *cough* jealousy *cough*. Let's stop right there, because seriously, who believes that? Anyone who's seen her interviewed knows that she's one of the most down-to-earth, radically out-there human beings on the planet. Maybe that was his flimsy cover-up for cheating? Who really knows. But hopefully J-Law will move on, because it seems Nicholas already has. He's now reportedly romantically linked to Kristen Stewart, how fast was that? Anyway, I just hope it was amicable. 

So that's now the end of my short, monthly round-up. Did the memories just come flooding back? Well I hope they did. Now we can all dive into August having officially sent off July. You're now free to leave and rejoin humanity. Til' next time . . .
