Toodles November: All Aboard December!

Hello and welcome readers to a new month of awesomeness! Summer has finally arrived (for us in the southern hemisphere at least), school's coming to a close, and most importantly (and excitingly), christmas is imminent! I'm actually so excited you have no idea, but before we delve right into that, I say we stick with tradition and do a little summary of everything that went down in November. Sound good? I think yes. If not, suck it up because it's happening. Intro over, let's get down to it . . .

Target Guy Becomes a Thing

If you're fluent in the land of the interweb, odds are you've seen a meme of 'Alex from Target' along the way. How did this come to be? Simply, an average Target employee was photographed during one of his shifts, and low and behold, because he was easier on the eyes than your average worker, became a viral internet sensation in less than 24 hours. Sounds crazy right? That's what I thought too. It seems we weren't the only ones, because ever since his ridiculously cray rise to popularity, rumours have been floating around that it was some kind of stint to get Target more customers. However, before you start hating on Target, this has pretty much been proved to not be the case. Unfortunately, this is one of the times I regret being a part of the generation I'm in. Seriously guys? Is this what happens during the off-periods of our favourite shows when there's no one to fangirl over? Have we become that desperate? Despite my major judgement, I can't help but find it just a tad funny.

Mockingjay Part 1 Comes Out . . .

There's no doubting that when it comes to Young Adult book to movie adaptions, Hunger Games has to take the cake. Every year in November, us teens fangirl like there's no tomorrow. Sad to say, I haven't yet seen the new instalment of this dystopian quadrilogy, but when I do, you can bet there'll be a review. Because of this series' popularity, whenever the films come out it's always a big deal. The internet is a buzz, TV network's are cranking out trailers like crazy, and perhaps my favourite part, there's always a new trail of awesomely hilarious promotional interviews floating around Youtube. And yes, they are what I've spent the better half of the past month scoping out. Basically this is just my long-winded way of justifying Mockingjay's place on the list, because how often do you see Dystopian movie series' around (besides 'Divergent', and 'The Maze Runner', and 'The Giver').

Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger Get Together

To be honest, when I heard about this, I got quite a shock. First of all, I didn't even know Arnold Schwarzenegger had children. Secondly, what are they doing cavorting around with Miss Cyrus? I guess I really just don't associate the two families with one another. The Terminator junior meets ex Hannah Montana? That's not a crossover I could see coming. However, it has, and to my knowledge, it's been pretty much, 100% confirmed. I'd like to be nice and say I'm happy for them and all that jazz, but if I'm being completely honest, I don't really care. At all. After Miley took a detour into craysville, I haven't really been very interested in her daily life. I was more inclined to care when she had her own hit, Disney channel TV series, but hey, that's just me.

Phil Hughes Dies

If you're not Australian and don't happen to be up on World Cricket, I'm not entirely sure you'll know who Phil Hughes is, but just go along with it anyway. While I'm being honest, I'll just tell you now that I didn't really know who he was either until I heard about his recent, tragic death. What happened was actually super awful. Obviously, he was a cricketer, and during one of his games right before the start of the cricket season, he was struck in the neck by what is referred to as a 'bouncer' (I don't really know what that is either), which caused something called a vertebral artery dissection, leading to a haemorrhage. It really was just terrible luck, and there was absolutely no one at fault. But it seriously was just a horrible thing to happen, especially considering he was only 25. All of Australia seems to be rattled by the news, and I wish his family and friends all the best.

So we've now reached the end of my little, somewhat vaguely depressing round up. Now, we can focus on the awesome things to come, most of which consist of CHRISTMAS, because yes, it is indeed the most awesome holiday of the year. Til' next time . . .

Annabel xx
