Toodles September: Hola October!

Greetings readers! It is that time once more to say hello to the new, and of course, give a proper goodbye to the old. October should hold some pretty cool things, as everything for me is pretty much smooth sailing until the end of the year, and of course we get to experience the awesomeness of Halloween again on the 31st. September was pretty cool for the most part (you know, aside from my major exam block), so I'm pretty pumped to get started on my recap of everything celebrity related in the past 30 days. Obligatory intro done and dusted, let's get into it . . .

4. George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin Tie the Knot

Yep, it's official, 53 year old heart throb George Clooney is officially off the market. After announcing their engagement in April of this year, Hollywood's favourite silver fox and Amal Alamuddin officially tied the knot on the 27th of September, devastating middle-aged women everywhere. It looked like there was a glimmer of hope for his admirers back in 1993 when he and actress Talia Balsam divorced, however it seems it's now all been dashed. Well, seeing as it hasn't affected me in the slightest, I'm just going to be nice and civil and wish them all the best, and let's hope that Amal isn't clubbed to death with the handbags of angry women (and let's hope even more that one of them isn't my mother).

3. Emma Watson gives an Awesome Speech at the UN

If you've been conscious in the past month, there's no doubting you'll have at least heard about Emma's visit to the United Nations. For those of you who have in fact been stranded on a deserted island without the power of internet for the past few weeks, Emma was recently appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, and she certainly hasn't taken this position lightly. She headed down to New York City this month and delivered a speech to the UN Headquarters (fun fact, to with she received a standing ovation) and helped launch the new 'HeForShe' campaign, calling men to advocate for gender equality also. May I just say, her speech was majorly impressive to say the least. I could insert some super lengthy quotes from it to help you guys out in understanding what I'm talking about, but I'm not that nice. I think it's best and easiest for all parties involved that you just take a look at it here.

2. Simone Battle Dies

I guess with the good comes the bad. You may or may not have heard of formed girl group GRL, but I ca assure you that you've heard their song 'Ugly Heart'. It's been played on the radio pretty consistently for a few months now, and it's not exactly easy to get out of your head. Tragedy struck the group recently when on September 7th, 25 year old group member Simone Battle took her own life. It's all super sad, and although I wasn't fully aware of who all the group members are, random death isn't ever good to say the least.

1. Joan Rivers Dies

Things this month really haven't been good with celebrity deaths. If you recall, it was only the end of last month that I was mentioning how Joan River's health had recently taken a turn for the worst. On September 4th, things went from bad to worse when it was announced that she had in fact tragically passed away. Although I was admittedly never on board with Joan's sense of humour, I was an avid 'Fashion Police' hate-watcher, and was super sad to hear the news.

So that's officially the end of my little, slightly depressing post. Hopefully the celebrity deaths haven't put too much of a downer on your life, and you are now able to sufficiently move on from September and get caught up in the awesomeness that will ensue throughout October. Til' next time . . .

Annabel xx
